The Official Certificate of Planting with your pet's name and the Sympathy Letter we send is a very personal way to recognize your love for your "special friend" or to the family of a lost pet.
About TreeGivers Planting Program and how it works:
TreeGivers trees are planted on public lands, in whichever of the 50 states you choose. Plantings have taken place in National and State Forests, State and County Parks, and many reclamation areas. Since our planting are nationwide, the local planters themselves determine the exact location.
Since we began our program in 1981, we find youth groups to do the plantings. We have enlisted scout groups and 4-H Clubs from all over the country in this effort. Naturally, they are invariably guided by experienced arborists, nurserymen or national foresters. In other states the trees are planted directly by these professionals.
As in location, the species of tree is determined by the planter. Careful consideration must be made concerning which kinds of trees do best in certain climates. For instance, those species that thrive in New Hampshire environment would not be the best choice for Nevada or Arkansas. Our trees range from 2-year-old rootstock on up. We start with plants that have been raised specifically for replanting, and which are intended to adapt and grow quickly into strong, healthy trees.
For all the reasons explained above, we could not promise a specific location or identification. TreeGivers trees are intended as a contribution to all the people of the state where they are planted, on behalf of the pet you would like to honor.
Although the trees bears no personal identification, you can take pride in knowing that it brings beauty to the landscape, provides a suitable home for wildlife and benefits the environment for us all.
